Crane Report – March 1, 2021 3pm there were thousands of cranes on the Monte Vista NWR tour loop at 3pm. They were easy to see from most of the tour loop road. Thousands of geese and ducks were at the Spring Creek Pond, which is the last pond on the tour loop. Now is the time to see the cranes and for the next 3 to 4 weeks.
Monte Vista Crane Festival ONLINE March 12, 2021 7pm MT
Due to COVID, the in-person Monte Vista Crane Festival has been canceled and an ONLINE event will occur instead.
The buy a ticket button will take you to the Quido website where you will create an account and buy the ticket. On March 12, 7pm MT you will log into your Quido account and watch the program.

The Swoop of Cranes is a community art and city beautification project. Citizens and businesses can sponsor a 5-foot steel crane silhouette that will be changed from a steel blank to an artist’s creative rendition. The completed rendition will be attached to light poles in town from March through August.
